Other Relevant
Experience:
- Chaired many External Evaluation Teams in BC.
Wrote/Edited numerous comprehensive reports on the ‘state
of education’ in a school.
- As a member of BC Provincial Education Ministry’s
Enrolment Audit Team for several years, I have
become accustomed to reviewing programs of various kinds
and writing reports to describe these programs, identify
their strengths and recommend changes where needed.
- I have some useful experience in ‘Conflict resolution’
consulting. The role of the consultant is to identify
issues that cause the conflict and help the parties resolve
the conflict.
- My recent trip to China (See work experience
above) was undertaken at the invitation of the Principal
of Jiangdu School, an 8,000 student campus with a residential
school component. During this trip I established good rapport
with the school authorities although none spoke English!
All communication was via an interpreter. I also helped
begin a dialogue between the Mayors of Jiangdu and Kelowna
for a future Twin City relationship.
- The Gurukul School, Trivandrum, Kerala: Principal
& Consultant: December 12, 2004 – March 31
2005. During the three months’ of consultation/administration,
The Gurukul School’s reputation was enhanced as a viable
alternate to the traditional school. The activities included
addressing the business community, corporate officers, Rotary
clubs, parents of the school, and staffing the school for
2005-06 school year as well as organizing it for the new
school year.
